Developed 4-Layer PCBA pair for measuring signal stength over distance. Motivated by the need for aid in installation of sub-GHz Verkada devices. Owned all firmware and PCBA design.
4 Layer PCBA
On-board impedance matching network with filtering for 2nd / 3rd harmonic attenuation
Capable of transmitting at 19.7 dB power level while meeting 2nd / 3rd harmonic specifications
Tested RF performance in house with conducted port testing, and in lab with radiative testing to guide antenna placement
Developed I2C driver for LED driver IC
Developed UART driver for transmitting information over USB2.0Â
Implemented a standard sub-GHz protocol for ping-pong logic between devices
Utilizes both average RSSI and packet loss error to determine signal strength
